In 2020 a group of friends came together to discuss their quality of life and opportunities they had been awarded from experiences and mentors along the way. A reflection of accomplishment was not their focus but connecting with young adults who had no insight into them or how they became was the vision. These were successful business owners, military members, federal employees, private sector workers and investors who wanted to create a platform to share their experiences in first person.
They decided to take action on building a collaborative platform. After receiving its national non-profit 501(c)3 status in December of 2021, Functional Training Zone Inc. was ready to support communities and programs seeking career readiness information. Through partners and professionals like you, FTZ has developed a repository of services and professionals who want to see young adults succeed. Creating awareness has the be the first step with any choice you make and your access to opportunity will come from the network you develop around you.

Professional Careers
Our mission at FTZ is to provide students with introduction level requirements and awareness to professional careers outside of a traditional educational environment. The courses that we instruct are real world functional based.
Knowledgeable instructors
All instructors have active knowledge of the course they teach to students. The FTZ training model allows the high school student or college graduate, even transitioning adults to gain awareness. Many people today have no idea of available careers or opportunities well into their adult hood.

All courses are designed at an introductory level and our network provides a range of career choice resources for you. Societies divided knowledge is a cultural impairment and we should all strive to extend our efforts to help someone else gain success.
Wind Turbine Tech
Wind turbine service technicians maintain and repair wind turbines.
Nurse practitioners
Nurse practitioners coordinate patient care and may provide primary and speciality healthcare.
Information security analysts
Information security analysts plan and carry out security measures to protect an organization’s computer networks and systems.
Solar photovoltaic installers
Solar photovoltaic installers assemble, set up, and maintain rooftop or other systems that convert sunlight into energy.
Data Scientist
Data scientists use analytical tools and techniques to extract meaningful insights from data.
